Nicki in the Snow

I love snow and apparently so does Nicki. She keeps wanting to go outside. I saw her sitting in our backyard in the snow looking over her domain.

Here is a pic, through the screen door with her in the snow.

Roomies

Since moving into a new house with friends from the MIT program, I am enjoying living here. We have a hot tub and a nice house. Wednesday we are having a pumpkin pie/hot tub party/house-warming party. Nicki also loves having a house to stay in. Here are some pics of the roomies, Emily and Kristen. Emily is the one on the left attacking another MITer at our end of year party. Kristen is the one with some blue in her hair. They are good friends and great roommates.

We have a small leak in our garage but that is getting taken care of (luckily). We had the many wasp/bees nests removed finally. But other than that we live close to a park with hiking trails and very close to downtown.

Portland Friends

Emily and I went down to Portland in the Spring to visit friends. She has friends from going to college at lewis and Clark; I got to visit with my longtime friends, Heather and Franky. Here is a pic of Heather and her husband Sean at the Asian gardens and a pic of Franky with his friends Perry and Scott.

We had some great coffee and good French breakfast and lunch. Of course stopped off at Powells.

Hope to go back over Winter break!

Break

With time to breath, I have more time to update my blog. I just finished my first student teaching and had a great time -- It was very busy at times but I learned a lot.

Only two more quarters to go; how the time flys. One more quarter on campus then another student teaching. I am going to try my hardest to have a teaching position in the fall so I don't have to end up substituting, which I know would drive me batty.

My cell phone is giving me a hard time with sending pics, so I don't have pics yet from my vacation in Whistler with Jason. We had a great time mountain biking. They have incredible food up there and a lot of restaurants to choose from.

This break so far has consisteded of sleeping, watching movies and t.v, reading several books for enjoyment and reconnecting with family and friends.

I drove for 5-6 hours on Thanksgiving. This was driving to my dad's in Port Townsend. Had a good dinner with most of the family, then drove to Poulsbo to visit several friends, then to Kingston where I discovered I had left my wallet at my dad's. So, then to Port Towsend, then back again to Olympia. Since my radio doesn' t work, I called Kristen in Chelan and actually got through to wish her and mom, etc. a happy Thanksgiving.

Pretty soon -- I need to begin revising my master's paper so I can have several more weeks of break in December!
