Anti-Atkins Diet

I've decided to go on the anti-Atkins diet and eat nothing but carbs. I'd like to see how much weight I lose, but more importantly I want to make a point that the Atkins diet is not healthy and is leading many Americans to turn their backs on healthy eating habits.

I began to think that this diet was ludicrous when I began observing more and more co-workers going on the high-fat Atkins diet. Sure, they reported initial weight loss but there was something wrong with seeing 60 + year olds eating candy bars for lunch or nothing but meat and chees -- all very high in fat.

I worried that some of my coworkers might be damaging their hearts, their arteries. While I did not observe them keeling over, it didn't make sense to me.

I discussed this very thing with my jogging buddy and she agreed. The only thing is -- that articles need to come out that show this diet is bad for you for people to stop using it.

Fresh vegis, fruit -- and carbs like bagels, wheat bread, are necessary for people who work out to give them energy. Carbs are necessary for even those who don't excercise.

But the point is --- that exercise is also necessary for long-term weight loss and starting a high-fat, no-carb diet will make it difficult to maintain an excercise schedule.

So, I started the all-carbs diet and felt great --- I did it for two weeks --- nothing but fruits, vegis and bread, pasta.

New Movie, Old Plot

Movies that copy, shamelessly. I just got done watching "Hide and Seek." And I wonder how many more movies will steal from the Jackel and Hyde plot --- where a seemingly together man is chased by a mysterious ghost or person, only to find out in the end that that chaser is the same man, only his alter ego. What was that one called '--- "Hidden Window"or some such where the writer is chased by a man in a hat, only to find out that he has a split personality. There was Fight Club, which was the first that I remember watching of this plot.

But my favorite is the plot where a family man -- has his family killed and he goes on a rampage or quest to bring justice to his family. Gladiator steals from many other films before this in this same plot.
But I guess there are other more universal plots, such as girl meets boy, they fall in love and either happy ending or tragic ending --- but it just seems like the split personality one has been used too often in the last few years.
